Soy pillar candles are new developments in the pillar candle industry. This product is not made of pure soy (vegetable) wax but include other approved botanical oils which facilitate in attaining the desired shape. It is essentially made from a blend that comprises of about 90% or more of soy wax. While the rest 5% include beeswax or vegetable based additives known as vegetable stearic acid. The melting point of the blends varies between 130 to140 degrees. It burns to suit the appropriate temperature of a room. These candles have grown in popularity owing to the fact that it does not contain any petroleum products thus making it an eco-friendly product too. These candles introduced in 1992 are a best alternative to paraffin wax based candles.
Pillar candles are predominantly candles that are thick and hold the uniqueness of burning for a long time. The large amount of wax added in the candle enables to provide fuel to the flame. A wide array of wax is used in the making of these candles that range from paraffin, beeswax to soy and are either left plain or dyed to give it a colorful look.
